“I found the [workshop] to be informational, fun, and interesting and to shed light on the vast differences with not only those in our training group, but our crew, and everyone we engage with daily. And to say Stacy was extraordinary would be an understatement. She was enthusiastic and kept all attendees’ attention, which is a difficult task, for the entire session. The session provided me with great insight into myself and those we work with daily and gave me the understanding and means to get the most out of our guys all while understanding a bit of their thought process and how their brains work. The breakdown of communication styles gives me more of an understanding “WHY” certain people act, behave, and work as they do. If the attendees truly take the content of this session and give it thought outside the training itself I believe this can directly tie into a more productive [company] and one in which those who bumped heads before can have a better working relationship.”
“Not everyone communicates the same way! What may work with you may not work with others and learning ways to adapt my communication style was very beneficial. Understanding the “communication killers” and how our brains become defensive subconsciously was also interesting. The [workshop] was very informative and Stacy kept us very involved. There was never a dull moment.”
“Where to begin? I learned more about myself and how others might see me. It also helped to understand how the minds of others work. We are not all the same but at the same time, everyone around us in this company has the same goal. The only difference is how we accomplish it, and that is why understanding who we are and who we’re working with is helpful. I feel confident that we will have better communication as a team from now on.”
Hopefully, it’s evident these words are not my own. They are reflections sent to me after I had the pleasure of conducting a recent workshop on communication and teamwork.
I love when I receive notes and reflections like these because they make me feel good, and they reinforce what I feel is one of the key reasons why we’re on this planet – to mold ourselves into the best versions of ourselves we possibly can.
Developing ourselves and our skills is paramount to developing the work cultures we aspire to create.
